Cupronickel aka copper-nickelis a alloy composed of Copper and Nickel and is mainly used in various marine applications due to it excellent corrosion resistance. Alloys range in composition from 90% Copper and 10% Nickel to 70% Copper 30% Nickel.

Cupronickel is commonly specified in heat exchanger or condenser tubes in a wide variety of marine applications such seawater cooling, bilge and ballast, sanitary, fire fighting, inert gas, hydraulic and pneumatic chiller systems, desalination plants, offshore oil and gas platforms, steam turbine condensers, high pressure pre-heaters at nuclear and fossil fuel power plant and in the hulls of boats and shipsf as well as some coins.

Cupronickel has a melting temperature of 1170 - 1240C (2140 - 2260F).
