Wrought Iron is an alloy of Iron that contains less than 0.08% Carbon this is less than Carbon than is found is Cast Iron. Wrought iron is tough, malleable, ductile, corrosion-resistant and easily welded.
Wrought Iron historically has had many uses but as mankind advanced Wrought Iron has been replaced with other metals and alloys that suit those purposes better. Basically today nothing is made of Wrought Iron except by individuals replicating the "Old Ways". Even things that you think are made of Wrought Iron probably aren't. For example gates and fences are actually made of steel.
Wrought Iron has a melting temperature of 1482 - 1593C (2700 - 2900F).
