Bread is one of the oldest foods, dating back at much as 30,000 years. The first breads were likely made from starch extracted roots. Wheat was spread on a flat rock, placed over a fire and cooked into a primitive form of flatbread.
About 10,000 BC agriculture and grains made their appearance and modern day bread soon followed.
Yeast to make the bread rise was adopted by different cultures and varying times. Eventually refined and perfected until we progressed to where we are today.
Living without bread for many today is unthinkable.
